Our Story

Quenching the Thirst for Wholeness and Connection Through Compassionate, Culturally Competent Care

Waterbrook brings compassionate care and clinical excellence to people seeking therapy in Illinois. Our simple mission started with a unique inspiration that continues to shape everything we do here at our practice. In 2013, we saw the growing unmet need for safe and confidential spaces where people can receive the support they need to deal with the complicated emotions, fractured relationships, demands of life, anxiety, trauma, and despair that have become hallmarks of modern society.

We chose "Waterbrook" from an image of a deer seeking refreshment at a clear, flowing brook. Like a deer following its instincts, we all thirst for relief, healing, and wholeness.

At Waterbrook, we hold space for individuals, couples, and families seeking wholeness, health, and well-being, insight, understanding, self-acceptance, balance, resilience, and satisfying relationships. Our culturally informed practice understands the unique thirsts of the BIPOC community.

As one of Illinois's premier mental health practices, offering therapy for adults, teens, and children, Waterbrook is uniquely equipped to promote healthier individuals, families, and communities.

Our blend of cultural competence and intensive clinical training allows us to treat a variety of mental health challenges utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy, solution-focused therapy, and other evidence-based approaches when addressing anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma.

Since opening our doors to our first clients in 2013, Waterbrook has become a top-rated therapy practice in Chicagoland. Our team has helped foster healing and growth in a safe, nonjudgmental setting where clients can embrace the refreshment they seek as they navigate life's challenges.

Our devotion to our clients also extends to the community as a whole. As part of our enduring commitment to social responsibility and social justice, Waterbrook donates a portion of all profits to local not-for-profit organizations and advocacy groups that serve underserved communities.
